“Bittersweet Lullaby” Wins @ Players Theatre Short Play Festival

“Bittersweet Lullaby”, a short musical by Will Lacker and Dylan Glatthorn, is the week two winner of the 9th annual Players Theatre Short Play Festival – NYC 2019!

“Bittersweet Lullaby” is the story of two struggling songwriters living in the same apartment decades apart. In one magical night, their voices connect through time, and they begin a collaboration that leaves them forever changed.

The production was directed by Will Lacker, and Dylan Glatthorn composed the music and lyrics as well as served as the Musical Director of the production. The show featured Paul Pilcz as Man and Michelle Dowdy as Woman.

“Bittersweet Lullaby” set to premiere @ Sound Bites Festival

Theatre Now New York has selected its roster of talent for its SOUND BITES 6.0 festival, featuring ten ten-minute musicals. The event will take place April 2 at Merkin Hall in Kaufman Music Center.

Among this year’s selections are musicals in which three of literature’s greatest lovers come to life, Gollum runs a smoothie shop, an Aesop’s fable is retold, and an eighth grader fights inherent sexism in middle school.

Up-and-coming musical theatre professionals will present their works to compete for Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Book, Best Choreography, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music, and Best Lyrics. A panel of industry professionals will determine winners for most of the categories, however, the public is invited to attend and will be able to vote for the Audience Choice Award. Finalists will join an alumni network of previous SOUND BITES participants and may receive further opportunities to develop their work.

The producing team includes Theatre Now New York Producing Artistic Director Thomas Morrissey, Producing Director Chris Giordano, and Managing Director Liz Doyle.

Produced by Pitch Her Productions and written by Justine Neubarth, Run-Ins is a 7-episode comedy series exploring those unwanted, awkward encounters in New York that we’ve all begrudgingly endured.

I’m so proud to have scored this hilarious series. Each episode showcases a different female director and female cinematographer, resulting in a mosaic series that boasts a collection of female voices and aesthetics.
